Tiny Griffon Gallery was established in 2013, in Nuremberg, Germany, by the curator and gallerist Cristina Simion. With a PhD in management and more than two decades of previous experience in management, journalism and communication, Cristina Simion is also a graduate of the International Curatorial Course organized by NODE Curatorial Center Berlin (2018-2019) and is enrolled in the Curating and Managing Art Collection Course (2022).

The gallery was founded with the scope of promoting mainly artists from Eastern Europe, with a special interest in Romania. Until the summer of 2016, the gallery has had a public programme and was located in the city centre, near the Tucherschloss Museum and the University. Moved since then in Ziegelstein, the gallery has continued to invite artists to put together art shows and has offered space and frame for art residencies.

In almost one decade, Cristina Simion has designed and curated around 100 solo and group exhibitions,most of them with the support and contribution of the gallery, in Nuremberg, Munich, Berlin, Bayreuth (Germany), Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Iasi, Brasov (Romania), Rome, Civitella d’Agliano (Italy), Ljubljana, Bled (Slovenia), Brussels (Belgium), Schmerickon (Switzerland), Chisinau (Modova). She has been the co-curator of the International Biennale of Visual Arts in Brasov, in 2019 and 2021, inviting artists from Nuremberg and the region: Petra Krischke, Pia Morgenthum, Reinhard Bienert, Anja Molendijk, Bruno Maria Bradt, to mention just a few. As a curator, she specialized in curating and cataloging private art collections.

The gallery has experience in cross-border cultural projects (Germany-Romania), experience in project preparation and management with local partners. It has worked, along the years, with prestigious partners, as the Romanian Cultural Institute (Institutul Cultural Roman), Stadt Nürnberg - Amt für Internationale Beziehungen (Foreign Relations Bureau of the City of Nuremberg), The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Art Circle Slovenia, Academia Luciana Civitella d’Agliano, Der Verband der Siebenbürger Sachsen - Bavarian chapter, Brukenthal National Museum Sibiu, Romania, Art Museum Cluj-Napoca, Banfy Palace, Haus der Heimat Nürnberg, a.s.o.
